Theater and Film

Ironically, I don't have many stills of my theater and film work, but here are some interesting selections.

As Leonard Pelican, a paranoid night clerk,
in "Duet for Solo Voice"
And as Pelican's nemesis, the KGB agent Vassily Chort.

My solo play on James Boswell is still unfinished, but the character--with its Scottish accent--became the prototype for the man in stocks I played in my "Lucky Roll" commercial for Massachussets Lottery. (See my spot reel.)

As a playwright with writer's block in "Upstate" at Theater for the New City. Alexander Bartenieff played my nephew. Reviewing this production, Hi Drama critics labeled me "an American Rowan Atkinson" and "a Jewish Carey Grant."

In the La MaMa revival of "Futz," directed by Tom O'Horgan in 1991.
International tour: with a Theater for the New City company in "One Director Against His Cast" in L'Aquila, Italy in 1989, twenty years before the big earthquake there. My pictures of the now-lost city are here.

Independent Films
I wish I'd thought to bring a camera to more of these productions.

There was a love story in Scott Franks' independent film, made with the admirable goal of educating young people about AIDS. I wish I could remember the title of the production. Scott, if you see this, please write.
